Inlay Knitalong

To celebrate Inlay, I'm having a little bit of a knitalong.  I'm doing it over in the Silk Road Socks group.  I realized I wanted to make these socks when I was doing the research for that book.  I saw all the gorgeous floors peeking out from under the rugs and filed away the idea of doing a pattern based on the fancy tile work.  Inlay was the result.  So I'm totally declaring it ok to host the knitalong in the same place. Book Yarn, Part II

Hey look, it's our friend Percival again.  I am totally making him earn his keep.  Fair disclosure, I set him up on the front porch and clicked through all of the various yarns one after the other.  It was windy, some of the pictures feature yarn wandering off to one side or the other.  It was also getting dark.  So you might be able to line all the pictures up and figure out in what order I took them based on how dark it is.  But I'm guessing you've got better things to do with your time. In the Deep Dark Woods

Well not quite.  These are actually the kind of woods I like.  The kind with paved roads and air-conditioned cabins and screened-in porches and plumbing and beds.  Civilized woods.  Woods that have been carefully maintained to be convenient and comfortable.  I don't have much use for the other sort of woods (the kind with wolves and tents and snakes and cliffs). I'm off at Salt Fork State Park with The Boy and his extended family.  They've all been coming here every summer for decades, and it's become a much-loved tradition.  (I just realized I've been coming off and on since [...]
