Cooperative Press (they published my book and are just about to release Heather’s book) are trying out some alternative funding sources.  Hmmm…that makes it sound rather like they’ve taken to robbing liquor stores.  That’s not at all what I mean.  What they’re doing is much cooler (and, conveniently, totally legal).  It seems that big shiny banks don’t tend to believe that knitting business are real businesses that can make real money.  In an impressive effort to prove them wrong, Cooperative Press set up a kickstarter campaign.  It’s a great way to fund creative projects, and it’s going marvelously well.  I figure since you guys seeeeeem to be the sort who like independent designers and publishers, you might like to know about it.
