Anemochory (plus giveaway)
Published On: September 29, 2015

I am so glad you all are indulging me and letting me bring my early patterns back out.  Anemochory are just too lovely to keep tucked away any longer!

anemochory b smallYou know how, when you’re new at something, you don’t have the good sense to know what’s going to be hard, so you just sort of dive in to all sorts of things?  That was totally what happened with these.

anemochory a smallKnitting them wasn’t hard, but writing them down proved challenging for 2010 me.  Luckily, I’ve had some practice at this sock writing thing between now and then, and 2015 me had no trouble with it.  I even worked in a few extra sizes (because socks this swoopy should be available to everyone).

anemochory e smallI suspect I may need to play with arches like this next time I cast on for a new pair of socks.  They really are unreasonably fetching (and they feel awfully nice on your feet, too)!

anemochory c smallThese socks are made with a lovely sock yarn by Hazel Knits (always a fabulous choice).  And while I don’t have this particular color to give away, I do happen to have a skein of Hazel Knits in a lovely orange (I can’t find a color name on the label, but it’s somewhere between Braeburn and Heirloom) to send home with one of you.  Just leave me a comment telling me how you feel about arch shaping on socks to be entered to win.  (Love it, not for you, not tried it yet but want to, maybe a bit scared?  There’s no wrong answer.  I just want to know if my fascination is shared!)

And while I can’t send yarn to everyone, I can give everyone a discount.  Just use the code SWOOP to get a dollar the price between now and Friday.  Just put Anemochory in your ravelry cart, click on the ‘use a coupon code’ button, and type in the code SWOOP.  You’ll see the change in price reflected right away.

anemochory f smallComments left between now and the end of the day (eastern time) Friday, October 2, 2015 will be entered to win.  I’ll pick a winner, contact them to get their addresses, and arrange to send yarn their way.  Be sure to use a real email address so I can contact you if you’ve won (I won’t do anything with those email addresses besides notify the winner).  If I do email you, I need to hear back from you within 72 hours or I will pick a new winner and contact them.  Sorry, but I can only ship physical prizes to US addresses.
