Rip it right out
I really hate ripping. A lot. More than you think. But I have also more or less convinced myself it’s better to rip early than to let something I know isn’t quite right sit there and taunt me. Which is why this couldn’t be let to stand.
I thought three plain rows between the start and the end of the little bloopy would be enough. It wasn’t. It was looking all scrunched up and smooshed. So I ripped it (and yes, ripping increases and decreases in brioche is every bit as fun as you might expect…but it is doable). And now it’s much much better.
And now I shall cruise happily along rather than muttering grimly under my breath and thinking I really should just fix it with every row.
