Variations
My latest digression is out! This time we’re exploring duplicate stitch and how you can use it to decorate your knitting. I used the hats in Penchant as an example (because really, how pretty are they with a little extra adornment), but you can absolutely apply the concepts to other knits!
Patrons go check your email, it’s there waiting for you. Everyone else, you can read more about it here.
As promised, I succumbed to my baser tendencies and put together a brief digression on duplicate stitch (or rather, as close to brief as me exploring something that amuses me ever gets).
It was inspired by these hats and covers all the variations you see here and several others in detail. But it’s not just about these hats. Instead, it starts with a general primer on duplicate stitch, then uses these hats as examples of what you can do with the technique.
Anyone on patreon will already have it (go check your inbox). Anyone who wants it can join now and you’ll have access to it right away.
Members also get the hat pattern (and quite a few other patterns too) as part of their membership. It will be available there through May 31, 2023. After that, it may end up available somewhere else (maybe, possibly, if I feel like it and nothing else more interesting has come along to distract me in the meantime, no promises, and even if it does, it will cost significantly more than being on the patreon for a month), but right now, that’s the only way to get it.
Now, the only question is, what are you going to doodle on first?
