Oddities
Oddities is out, you can find it on ravelry and payhip, and you can use the code TIDEPOOL for 15% off for the first couple of days it’s out (or, folks on the Rampant Nonsense level on patreon get it for free as part of their membership).
Look, this was all but inevitable. How many times have I gotten half way through a hat crown and said ‘huh, this looks like a sea urchin.’ That can only happen so many times before you just give in and decide ‘ok, I shall knit a sea urchin.’
Or a whole pile of urchins, as the case may be.
Because really, you can’t expect me to knit just one. Not when you can put beads on them. Or make them different sizes. Or give them different designs. No, knitting just one would be rather like knitting one sock…technically quite easy, but significantly less satisfying.
So if you suddenly find yourself needing a pile of your very own magical sea creatures, I both completely understand and am ready to help. Once again, the pattern is Oddities, it’s out now on ravelry and payhip. You can use the code TIDEPOOL fo 15% off for the first couple of days it’s out or join the Rampant Nonsense level on patreon and get it for free.
Oh…and I had to learn this, so now you do too. A sea urchin’s mouth is on the bottom of its body. So that other hole? The tiny one on the top of the urchin? The one you see in pretty much every pretty picture of urchin shells ever? Yeah. Yeah that’s sea urchin butt. And now that you know that, you’ll never ever ever look at a picture of urchin shells again. You’re welcome!
