Abortions are good!^ If you or someone in your household can get pregnant, I think you should have abortion pills in your medicine cabinet. Just in case. Because things are about to get bad.

You can order abortion pills online from Aid Access. You can order them even if you’re not pregnant. Aid Access will send them to you no matter where you live (they are overseas and do not comply with requests from US law enforcement). They are safe (literally safer than tylenol) and effective, and you can absolutely manage your own medication abortion at home (Aid Access will tell you exactly how and exactly what to expect).

Make damn sure that your friends and family know where you stand and that you are a safe person to come to if they have questions or need help. Make your values known. This is the time to be loud.

It’s also the time to make sure your own birth control is as reliable as you can make it (because yes, yes they absolutely ARE coming for your birth control pills). Talk to your doctor about long term options. Stock up on emergency contraception.

Be informed. Know the laws in your area are. Find your nearest abortion clinic (if you can, give them money and ask if they have volunteer opportunities). Pay attention to every single local election (especially for judges, because holy hell one good judge can slow down a lot of shitty laws). Get involved.

It absolutely is going to be a shit show, but you can help. You just have to be willing. I have faith in you!

^Abortion is good in precisely the same way other forms of healthcare are good. Doesn’t mean they’re fun (any more than a colonoscopy or an appendectomy are fun). But they are absolutely vital healthcare, and literally anyone who needs or wants an abortion should be able to get one. (This disclaimer is like 99.99% here only because I put this same post on instagram. Pretty much everyone here is already well aware of where I stand on this and is delightfully supportive!
