Knitting is autistic…and so am I! Late last year I spent a truly delightful hour talking with two of the world’s very coolest humans and recording an episode of The Autistic Culture Podcast. We talked about knitting and how it does good things for brains like ours and brains like ours are actually pretty damn cool. And now it’s out and you can listen to us giggle and talk over each other and get nerdily excited about making loops with pretty string.

This is my very favorite podcast. No really, I found out about it when Arielle Juliette did an episode last year (belly dance is autistic, which I highly recommend you listen to as soon as humanly possible, if you like me you’ll LOVE Arielle) and immediately listened to Every Single Episode. Because that’s just what my brain does when it finds something it likes. It’s made living in my brain more comfortable, and I suspect it will help lots of you too.

Because here’s the thing, if you like me—if you like how I I think about things, and how I explain things, and how I talk—there’s a pretty decent chance you have some flavor of spicy brain (if I like you too, it’s all but guaranteed). And I see how many of you respond whenever I say anything about this! I know you’re out there, and I know you’re wondering and I know you’ve got All The Feelings about it. Because I’ve been there!

And the more you get to understand how your brain works, the better you’re going to be able to take care of yourself and the better you’re going to feel and the more fun you’re going to have. This podcast absolutely helped me do that. And I bet it will help lots of you too. And god talking with them was just so damn much fun!
