Crispy
I like my bacon crispy, so perhaps it’s no surprise I prefer my knitted bacon with a bit of extra substance. But since keeping the yarn in the pan for a few more minutes doesn’t seem to do much, getting crispy knitted bacon required a slightly different approach.
Which is why I found myself wandering the aisles of the local hardware store, knitted bacon in hand, fondling wire with the other hand, much to the chagrin of the gentlemen working there. Because really, I firmly believe you should seize every opportunity to be the weirdo someone else tells their friends about at the end of the week, and my work affords me plenty of opportunities to live that philosophy.
And while it’s difficult to properly convey the difference between limp and crispy knitted bacon in a photograph, perhaps this, showing them both draped over the edge of the pan, will give a sense of the thing.
Yes there will be a pattern, yes fairly soon. But I think I need to go make a sandwich first, all this talk of bacon has made me hungry!
