The retired patterns are coming back for a few days later this week!

TL;DR:

Retired patterns come back for a few days once or twice a year (usually in summer and after Thanksgiving). That’s happening later this week, they’ll be up for a few days, then they’ll go away again. If you catch them in the first 24 hours, I’ll have a little something extra. I’ll send a note to folks who get messages from me (either mailing list or patreon) when they go live. Make sure that’s you if you want to hear (or you can hope the algo gods bring it to your timeline if you just want to do the instagram thing…if you trust them that much).

Longer version:

– Why do I do this: A couple of years ago I got overwhelmed by my back catalog, retired most of my earlier work, and launched Tiny Nonsense. That gave me mental space to make Cool New Stuff, but some folks missed the early things. So I make many of the retired patterns available a couple times a year (not all, but many, alas there is no list). This is a compromise between my innate longing to have Only The Shiniest Newest Things Available (because whatever is newest is clearly the best, right?) and the thing where the earlier stuff is also awesome, and not everyone knew about it or was able to get it when it first came out.

– Why don’t I give you exact times: This is a super manual process. It requires editing and turning on/off each and every pattern page on two sites and takes literally hours of work that is somehow both boring and detailed. I can only do it for a couple hours at a time before my brain or my body revolt, which means I can’t say exactly when I’ll have it done. My best guess is they’ll be up some time Tuesday or Wednesday (July 22 or 23), and I’ll take them down either next Monday or Tuesday (July 28 or 29).

– What’s that about something special: I’ll do a little something special for the first 24 hours they’re back. Details will go out to folks who get messages from me (either mailing list or patreon) when that starts.

You can do the mailing list thing (don’t worry, I very much do not have my act together enough to pester you often, mostly only when we do this or when something new comes out) or patreon thing (there’s totally a free level you can join, or there are a couple paid options if that works for you) if you want to hear from me.
