Salmon?

The thrift store gods smiled upon me once again! Or at least I think so, and feeling like good things are happening is a more fun way to go through your days…

I found a huge (big enough for a double bed), pink, vintage wool blanket at the thrift shop for a whopping twelve dollars.

Now, the binding on it has absolutely seen better days! It’s frayed and worn. But it’s probably also older than I am, and I’m certainly a bit worn around the edges too, so I have no room to judge.

I’ve sent it through the wash a couple times with my favorite wool wash, and it is currently drying over the deck railing in the sunshine (because sunshine is a great way to get rid of that thrift store fabric funk). Once it’s dry I’ll likely remove that binding (possibly by unpicking it, possibly by just cutting it off depending on the relative amount of patience and rage that day), and then I’ll decide if I’m going to mend/adorn the handful of tiny holes or just let them be.

Then it will go in my car as the emergency/adventure blanket (wool is absolutely fantastic for this) and have all sorts of fun.
