Were I to knit a sweater (which I certainly won’t be doing until I learn how to use a knitting machines, an undertaking that is in and of itself far from certain), which set of colors would be the most fun?

If (again, I emphasize the if of it all, no promises anywhere in sight) I were to do such a thing, I’d want a cropped, fitted sweatshirt in a pretty color with tiny bits of contrast at the edges. Think something like the insides of the cuffs, hem, and collar in the contrast, maybe something amusing where the bits are put together, but the rest of it scandalously plain.

The thing is I know this would be unspeakably tedious to knit, especially at the fairly fine gauge I would want it in. This is very much why I absolutely positively do not plan to ever hand knit myself any such thing. I get bored of stockinette half way through a hat in worsted weight yarn. I would abandon a sweater two inches in.

But I’ve heard knitting machines are quick enough to outpace the boredom (and treacherous enough to require your attention)…and I would wear the ever living hell out of a cozy wool sweatshirt absolutely all winter long.
