Monthly Reminder
I think you should stock your medicine cabinet now while you still can. So let’s talk about how.
If you’re lucky enough to have insurance, some disposable income, and a good doctor, talk to them! Ask for their help. Say you’re worried about access to birth control and emergency contraception and abortion pills, ask them to write you a prescription, and use that insurance you’re already paying so much for to fill those prescriptions.
If that’s kind of a lot to talk to your doctor about, I get it. You can get hormonal birth control online without ever seeing a doctor. Some places take insurance, some don’t, so look around. But you can get it.
You can get Plan B for less than ten dollars at Costco’s pharmacy (and you don’t have to be a member to use the pharmacy).
You can get abortion pills from Aid Access (aidaccess.org, @aidaccess). They are safe and effective, you can get them even if you’re not pregnant, they will get them to you for free if you can’t afford them. Plan C (plancpills.org, @plancpills) has more options for abortion pills.
Stock your medicine cabinet.
Take care of yourself and your community.
While you still can.
(A lot of this is formatted for ig, because that’s where I have by far the largest reach, and I want to make things in a format that works there so more people see it…and today is a zoo and I don’t have time to reformat it. So forgive the clunky bits and keep being awesome and doing good in the world. This is how we take care of each other. This is how we fight back. This is how we survive!)
