Gridelin & Baah (giveaway)
You know how sometimes a yarn and a pattern combine just right to produce a project that’s more than the sum of its parts? That totally happened here. The yarn and the stitch seem more or less meant for each other. The pairing produces fabric that looks almost like it was carved in stone. The stitch definition is fantastic, and the resulting fabric looks almost etched. The contrast between the crisp stitches and the soft, snuggly fabric is marvelous.
Much of the credit for this has to go to the delightful yarn from Baah. The color is beautifully subdued – almost a solid, but with just enough variegation to produce a delightful depth. And the three-ply structure makes for marvelously sculpted stitches that show off your work beautifully. It really is a marvelously well-behaved yarn and great fun to work with.
And one of you lucky folks is going to find out just how much fun it is. The lovely people at Baah are giving one of you two skeins of Sonoma to make this project yourself! To enter, just leave a comment telling me which of their delicious colors you’d like most, and it might be yours. I used Lavender for the book, but you can pick whatever you’d like!
Comments left between now and the end of the day (eastern time) Thursday, November 27th, 2014 will be entered to win. I’ll pick a winner, contact them to get their addresses, and arrange to get the goodies to them. When you leave a comment, be sure to use a real email address so I can contact you if you’ve won (I won’t do anything with those email addresses besides notify the winner). If I do get in touch with you, I need to hear back from you within 72 hours or I will pick a new winner and contact them.
