Various is out, it’s 10% off with the code STARBURST, and I’m not even going to pretend I don’t love it to bits.
If you’ve been here a while, you know I’m not inclined to proper colorwork. I can do it. I have done it. But it’s not my happy place. But I don’t want to miss out on all the fun of combining yarns. So instead, I find ways to play with two yarns, but only use one per row (because that makes it feel less like I’m going to be trapped in a giant spiderweb of yarn). And that’s exactly what happened here.
You only ever use one yarn per row, and all the fancy bits happen through slipping and manipulating stitches from previous rows. It’s basically super fancy stripes! But somehow…somehow it all comes together and makes something kind of magical.
The pattern is up on ravelry now. For the first few days it’s out, the code STARBURST will get you 10% off, and I’ve got a skein of the gorgeous Freia Fine Handpaints yarn (best long, slow gradients ever) to give away over on instagram.
Oh, if you like sets (or if hats aren’t your thing but mitts are), the matching mitts will be coming out in two weeks.
