I’m taking a bit of time off this month, but I wanted to make sure you had something to do while I’m napping (or, more likely, sweeping out the garage, getting drywall dust out of my cabinets, or planning next year’s projects…but napping sounds better).
On Mondays, I’ll introduce a topic or skill and provide a bunch of links and resources to help you learn more. Later in the week, I’ll show off a few favorite patterns so you can do some homework. The featured patterns will be on sale for one day each, so come back each weekday to see if there’s something that catches your eye!
Often the smallest projects have the biggest transformation when you block them. Scintillation is the perfect example.
I mean they’re cute before you block them (cute…and downright addictive…from what I’ve heard it is nigh on impossible to knit just one). But once you block them they’re pretty much unspeakably awesome.
And I’ve made it as easy as I possibly can to block them. I’ve included blocking templates you can print out (three of them, one for the four-point version, one for the five-point version, and one for the six-point version).
All you have to do is soak it, squeeze out the water, flop it on the template, and pin the points out to whatever row of the template works best for your star. Then leave it to dry (I’ll fully admit leaving it to dry is hard, but you can totally cast on a second one while the first one dries).
It takes all of three minutes of work, and the results are so darn cute they’re deadly.
Scintillation is 25% off just for today with the code SUMMER SCHOOL (technically, it’s 12:01 am to 11:59 pm eastern time on Friday, July 26, 2019 if you want to get very particular).
That’s the end of Summer School, and we’ll be back to the regular blog next week. I catastrophically failed at actually taking any time off (yeah…yeah not even a little…but I got a bunch of neat stuff done that you’ll be seeing later this year and next, so it was at least productive).
