Predilection
Published On: June 30, 2020

So I couldn’t just do the hat and be done with it.  I tried. I really did.  But I know myself and I know I’ll be happier with a set.  So here we are.  This is Predilection, it’s the companion to Proclivity, and you can take 10% off on ravelry for the next day or two with the code FONDNESS.

It uses that same so mellow it almost distracts you from the news for a minute stitch that worked so well on the hat.  But it adds in something special on the thumb.

Now, the tradeoff for that amazing thumb is that it’s not quite as reversible as the hat is.  But that’s ok, because I’ve never in my life managed to weave in the ends on a two colored mitt in such a way that I’d truly be happy to wear it with either side out.  So I’d rather give you a fabulous thumb and have you not fretting that your ends will show if you’re not careful.

And, to satisfy the part of my brain that likes to argue with itself a lot, I reversed the colors on hat and mitt (wide stripes in yellow/green on the mitts, wide stripes in pink on the mitts).  That way the mitts look delightful with the hat no matter how I’m wearing it.  Because yes, yes I am totally capable of getting myself all spun up over that if I’m not careful (I’m a flawed being).

If you want a companion for your hat, you can grab the mitts now.  You can either take 10% off the mitts with the code FONDNESS, or you can get the hat and mitts together at a special introductory rate (it totally still works even if you bought the hat last week, ravelry is cool like that, the details are over on the pattern page).

Oh, and just a little heads up, ravelry had a bit of a facelift earlier this month, so it may look a bit different if you haven’t been by recently. If you find you prefer the old version, you can switch back and forth by hovering over/tapping on your profile icon (in the upper right hand corner of any ravelry page) then selecting classic ravelry from the drop down menu.

Some folks are having trouble with the new ravelry site.  I know ravelry is working on it, but in the meantime, if you’d prefer, the mitts are also available on Lovecrafts.  Unfortunately, Lovecrafts doesn’t let me do things like offer sales or coupon codes, but hopefully this will be an alternative if you’re not able to use ravelry right now but still really want these right this second.
