Summer School, Party Tricks, Diluvian
Published On: July 30, 2020

On Monday we talked a bit about socks with ridiculous party tricks, and for the rest of the week I’ll be showing off some of my personal favorites.

These are Diluvian, they are reversible, and they’re 25% off on ravelry with the code SUMMER SCHOOL through the end of the day, eastern time, Thursday July 30.

Now, I know all socks are technically reversible in the sense of there not being much in the way of dire consequences if you put them on inside out.  But these look equally lovely either way, so you won’t run the risk of looking down at your feet at lunch time and feeling disheartened that you didn’t quite manage things right in the morning.

Seriously though, some folks find that they like the feeling of knit stitches against the soles of their feet (instead of the purl stitches you’d usually have touching your feet when you wear a sock with a stockinette sole).  But no one much wants to knit a sock with all purl stitches on the bottom if they can help it (or is that just me?), so this is a great compromise.  And if you’re one of those folks who likes the feel of knit stitches (instead of purl) touching your foot, look for socks with a ‘princess sole’ and you’ll find others that will work for you!

Ok, so I know there’s one more day in the week, but it seems to me like summer school is the PERFECT thing to have let out early. So tomorrow I won’t be showing off a particular sock, I’ll be doing a sale on all of them (so if you missed one of the daily sales or if the sock you love wasn’t on there, this should cover it).  Come back tomorrow for details (as always, mailing list folks will get a different code with a bigger discount, so do the mailing list thing if you want that to show up in your inbox tomorrow morning).
