I have it on good authority that I’m not the only one who still has their colored pencils (or who has obtained more in adulthood, a move that I completely support)! Which means I suspect I’m not the only one who might enjoy a little coloring book inspired by our lovely stars.

Because really, every single time I see them, I think ‘ooooh, that would be fun to color…’ So this year I made that happen! I commissioned a talented friend to turn the outlines of the stars into line drawings, and I put together a little coloring book with a bunch of versions of two of my favorites.

Now for the scandalous promotional/preemptive question answering bits:

• The paper stars are my emotional support craft project, I make them to stave off the winter dark, and I wrote a book with step by step instructions for how to make them. It’s called Gleaming, and you can find it (along with info about the nifty paper I use for them) right over here.

• If you’re worried that folding them will be hard, I’ve got a little set of free sample instructions over here so you can make sure you’re comfortable with the folds.

And I’m thinking…as of right now (the morning of December 21, which is when I’m writing this, even though it won’t to up until the 22nd), patreon says I’ve got 1,137 paid subscribers. And patreon is what lets me do projects like this and share them with everyone! So if we can get that to 1,200 by the end of the year, I’ll get two more stars commissioned and do an extended version of the coloring book for everyone some time in January.
