Not what it appears
Ok, so, talking more about mending the holey elbow! At first glance, it might appear that this is knit one purl one ribbing. And that would have been lovely, because knit one purl one ribbing is actually delightfully easy to duplicate stitch over. But if you take a closer look, you’ll see it’s…not that.
This is easiest to see if you look at the cuff, which is knit one purl one ribbing, and then look at the transition into the sleeve, which is…something else. I’m pretty sure that ‘something else’ is the machine knit version of one color brioche (I think machines make it slightly differently, so it may have a different name when a machine does it, but the structure looks basically identical).
And brioche is…not pleasant to duplicate stitch over. That’s especially true on a fabric like this where the yarn is both fuzzy and thin. So I’m…doing something a little bit different.
As is so often the case, this is easier to see with pointing and flopping, so the instagram version is over here.
