Misconception
I have…I have some distressing news. I had a fairly fundamental misconception about sea urchin anatomy.
Turns out the mouth is on the bottom, not the top. Which means pretty much every picture you ever see of of a sea urchin shell is actually a picture of sea urchin nethers.
We’re just going to write this off as one of the risks of a wildly different body plan and move on with our day. But since I learned this, now you have to too!
