So on Monday, while on the way to a boring administrative task which I expected to bring me no joy and which I was in fact slightly dreading, the roadside lottery pulled my name out of the hat. For I saw a big pile of stuff on the side of the road. And you know as well as I do that this is basically Hunter bait. So I pulled over and what did I behold but two giant boxes full of buttons. No really, quite full, lots and lots and lots of buttons.

So of course I flung them in my car, cackled with glee, and sped off to complete my errand. Then, because I am a hedonist at heart, and because I know what brings me joy, I got what may well be the last of the summer’s roadside ice creams and sat on my favorite bench in the late afternoon sunshine and began to investigate my treasures.

Did I know when I got up that my afternoon would look like this? Nope. Did it turn out to be one of the most pleasant afternoons in living memory? Yup. Am I doing my veeeeeeeeery best to note when things like this happen to so as to amass a list of examples to hand to my brain when it tries to lie to me and tell me no good things will ever happen and the world is full only of woe and despair? Oh fuck yes. I literally keep an actual list. On paper. With pictures. Because brains are sneaky and sometimes tell us lies.

Then it got dark (because thought the light is glorious, it is fading by 5 these days), and I came home, and began The Sorting, which will be a lengthy and somewhat chaotic process. Stay tuned for further updates as events warrant!
