Psst, last call for the retired patterns, I’m taking them down tomorrow (Friday) morning!

I sort of love going back through the retired patterns and remembering when I knit them and where I took the photos and what my life looked like when they were the shiny new thing. I can’t quite manage the thought of updating and rereleasing them all (no seriously, it makes me want to take to my bed and sleep for a month, I really can’t), but oh it’s fun to visit with them from time to time!

Clearly I’m a sucker for a good hat and mitt set, so I thought I’d show off some of my favorites. These are, more or less in order: Petiole (pink and leafy and still the cutest little wrist warmers ever), Various & Sundry (the pink to orange gradient of my dreams), Presage & Portend (teal and white brioche), Henceforth & Hitherto (orange and swathed in leafy tendrils), and Inknings & Intimations (more blue and white brioche).

Do I love hat and mitt sets in large part because of the fun I get to have naming them? I mean that’s for sure a part of it…but also I do truly believe that half the fun of knitting is getting to have The Perfect Accessories to match your winter coat, and we all know the store isn’t going to have anything half as cute as what we can make.
