I, for reasons having largely to do with ‘it’s stockinette, I got distracted, my hands were on auto pilot’ ended up doing something a bit unexpected at the brim of this hat.

And I think I sort of like it? In that ‘oooh, I should play with this more so I can figure out how it behaves and do something with it’ sort of way.

It looks nifty on both sides, and it’s usefully stretchy in a way that makes it suitable for the bottoms of hats, and I’m pretty sure I can play with it in such a way that you can manage the flippyness of stockinette and pick which side faces out.

We’ll see…I suspect I’ll be noodling about with it more in the near future. But in the meantime, that lovely hat in the background is currently being written and will be out shortly (likely this month, which let’s be real is still firmly in the absolute middle of winter, at least from where I sit in snowy Maine).  Now, can someone please make it both pleasantly wintery and significantly less frigid outside so I can take pretty pictures of it without getting frostbite?
