Backwards

I did this backwards! Normally I knit something, show it to you as we go along, then put the pattern out. This time? Well, I knit this ages and ages ago (like literally years), then it languished in the depths of my office for far too long, then I put it out the other day. (It’s called Wended, Rampant and Notable Nonsense folks can currently get it [and a stack of other hats that use that same folded brim structure] free right over here, everyone else can buy it here.)

That’s ok though! All it means is that I’m going to take a little of this embroidery out (you can watch me do that over here), then talk about it with you as I put it back in.

But before we talk about it though, I want to know what questions you have about embroidering on your knits. Because I have reason to suspect it’s one of those things folks think is scary when really it’s both easy and fun. So tell me, how do you feel about embroidering on your knits?

Have you tried it? If so, did you like it? If not, do you want to try it? And if you want to try it, what’s holding you back? Whether you’ve tried it or not, is there something about it that feels daunting or confusing or that you want a little bit of hand holding on?

Ask me all your questions (right over here) and I’ll see if I can’t help with some of them! And in the meantime, the hat’s over here if you want to knit up something to embroider on.
