Spots for the second month of Notable Nonsense mail club are opening soon (in a couple of days, don’t worry, you didn’t miss it). Details below!

TL;DR version right up top:

• March’s mailing is these amazing little scissors (super sharp, super comfy, deeply satisfying snick snick sounds when they cut). And yes, they can go to both stateside and international folks.
• If you are already on the Notable Nonsense tier and want them, you don’t need to do anything! If you’d rather change your tier and not get them, you can always change your tier to whatever works best for you (instructions for that are over here). Be sure to update your tier before it bills again (the soonest that can happen is the 28th) if you want to modify it.
• If you’re not already on the Notable Nonsense tier, I’ll open the signups shortly, and you can sign up. They’ll proooobably open February 28 (possibly March 1 if my weekend is very weekendy), and they’ll be open for a few days (possibly as long as a week, more likely they’ll fill up faster than that).
• Spots are limited! I’ve got enough packed to handle everyone who is already on the Notable Nonsense tier, plus a few dozen extras for new signups. I’ll post on patreon first (so everyone there has first dibs on limited spots), then a day or two later share it with instagram/the blog/the mailing list/ravelry (if we have spots left).

Longer version for folks who want the details:

This Month’s Mailing: People have been asking for these scissors! They’re my favorite (I have them stationed all around my house). I did them in kits last year, and everyone either love love loved them and wanted more or was sad they didn’t get them the first time around and wanted me to make them available again. So I have!

I’ll do a bigger post about them when I open the tier in a couple days. In the meantime, you can wander over here to see them in action in a post I did last year.

Shipping Info: The whole way the ‘put fun stuff in the actual physical mail’ tier works is if we keep the postage simple. That means we’re putting things in sturdy little envelopes and trusting the post office to get them there the old fashioned way. The cool thing is it works about 99.5% of the time (yup, even for international folks)! That means we’re sending them without tracking, but truly, the post office is a marvel of the modern age and does a fantastic job getting things where they’re supposed to go (especially if you check to make sure patreon has your correct address). In the unlikely event something goes astray, I can always send another (but really, it’s kind of astonishing how often it works).

Schedule: Towards the end of each month I do a post (this one, you’re reading it now) saying ‘hey, here’s what’s going out in next month’s mailing!’ That lets folks see what’s happening (and modify their membership if they don’t want next month’s mailing).

Then at the beginning of each month I’m shipping something, I’ll open signups for a few days (that’s happening this weekend). They’ll be open for at most a week. In reality, they’ll likely close earlier as the tier fills up (and some months we might not have room for new people at all, depending on how many folks we have already signed up). In the second week of the month, I’ll get everything packed up and headed out!

Qualms: I am but one single human being trying to function in the middle of an unusually snowy Maine winter while my country crumbles around me. I could always slip on/get murdered by ice, or the asshole nominally in charge around here might decide to do something barbarous like shut down the postal service. But I’ve got a damn good track record of getting this sort of thing done (cough, see for example last month’s mailing, plus half a dozen kits over the last year and a half, plus a dozen books over several years before that). But I’ve already got enough packages for current folks packed and ready (plus some new folks standing by). So I’m comfy I’ve got all the moving pieces lined up and ready to go as best I can on my end!

Summary:

• If you’re a Notable Nonsense member and want this package, you don’t need to do anything! Your package will just arrive some time in mid March like magic (as long as you don’t change your membership between now and March 8 when I pull the address list) . If by chance you don’t want this package, you can always change your tier to whatever works better for you (be sure to do that by February 28).
• If you’re not currently a Notable Nonsense member and want this package, keep an eye out, spots open soon! I’ll post when I open them (likely February 28). There will be a couple dozen spots for new folks. I’ll only talk about them on patreon at first, then early next week I’ll share them more generally (if there are spots left).
