Holes + Thread = Decorations
So the arrangement seems to be me + sweater = sweater full of holes.
Luckily, the follow on seems to be sweater full of holes + me + thread = holes so pretty we can pretend they’re decorations and there on purpose.

At least that’s what I’m telling myself as I do the inaugural round of mending on the sweater that joined the pajama sweater roster this last winter.
I’m playing with DMC’s eco vita floss, which is an organic wool dyed with natural dyes. I’ve not used it before, and there’s always a chance something dreadful will happen in the wash. But I’m stitching on a cashmere sweater, which gets the gentle wash in cold water plus air dry, so I feel like it’s a risk I’m comfortable taking.
There are more holes to come, so I will report back as it continues to evolve in the future!
