It’s starting to feel like spring around here. I haven’t seen them yet, but I know there are all sorts of fresh, new things just waiting to push up through the ground and prove that we’ve survived another winter. Because if you wait long enough, spring always comes. And if you wait long enough, tyrants always fall. Both of those are worth waiting for, and maybe you’d like something to do with your hands while you wait.

As always, you get to make choices about how you spend your time. You can choose to make just one little stem and bud (I did a lone one on one side of my hat), or a little group (I put three on the other side of my hat), or lots and lots and lots all the way around (and yes, you can absolutely make them each different colors). You can have the stem run all the way up the side of the hat (I did that with my lone bud) or not, and you get to decide if you want a little starburst at the top (yup, did that too, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to).

Sort of like how you can choose what you do with your time while you wait for bad people to come to the end of their power (I recommend making a ruckus in whatever way you can, and actively looking for ways to help as many people as you can, but again, you don’t have to if yo don’t want to). Possibly while wearing an awfully fetching hat.

Once again, the pattern is called Unfurl. It’s out on both Ravelry and payhip! Rampant Nonsense and Notable Nonsense folks have a code to download it free over here. plus they get Snowday and Expound and Delineated and Wended too, and everyone can get the guide to turned hems (the technique all these hats use for those lovely brims). Everyone else can use the code TOPPLE for 25% off for the first few days the pattern is out!
