Doodybops
Published On: April 6, 2026

Alrighty, so you want to see how to do the little doodlybops. Now, my brain says ‘the most reasonable and efficient way to do that is to read the nicely streamlined, highly photographed, and actually edited instructions on exactly how to do them that are in the pattern that came out last week…go read those.’ Because my personal brain wants to flay alive anyone who is trying to explain something to me in a video. It’s too slow, and someone is talking. What a travesty, no one can learn under these conditions.

However, I have been led to believe that not everyone is flung into a fit of senseless rage at being asked to incorporate knowledge this way. So I filmed myself working the most recent one of these and talking about what I’m doing and what to look out for as I did it. Note I said ‘filmed’ (not painstakingly edited) and said ‘talked’ (not carefully read a prepared script). And I am not naturally taciturn…nor had the adhd meds kicked in when I filmed this. So I do go on.

But if you want, you can watch me make it and talk you through it. And if you very much do not want that, not even a little bit at all thank you very much, the more streamlined version of the directions are in Unfurl (which Rampant and Notable Nonsense folks can get free right here). Or if you just want to watch me make the vertical line part of it, you can do that here.

Really though, it’s a fun way to draw on your knitting, which is pretty much always deeply satisfying!
