I asked instagram what they thought this was, and a somewhat baffling number of folks decided the clear answer was…snails.

Which, I regret to inform you, is not the answer. This time. Though now I have found myself spending a fairly shocking amount of time pondering how one would construct a snail, were one so inclined. Which I wouldn’t have said was likely until about 25 hours ago. But now here we are.

But in the meantime, I can say with certainty that this isn’t a snail.
