For Science!
A brave and valiant sock has offered itself up in pursuit of scientific progress. At least that’s the story I’m telling myself and I besmirch this perfectly lovely sock (it’s by Darn Tough, which is my absolute favorite brand of commercial socks…mostly wool, goes in the washer and dryer, lifetime guarantee, highly recommend, not sponsored just a fan).

Because the previous tests proved that the Sock Stop* does, indeed, make stuff less slippy…but that’s only part of the question. Next we have to see how it feels underfoot and how it behaves in the washer and dryer. And for that, we need to defile a sock. And then wait for it to dry (which takes at least 24 hours).

Once it’s dry I’ll try it on and walk around and see how it feels. Then I’ll send it through the wash, let it air dry, and see how it holds up. Then I’ll try both the washer and the dryer (cough, all by its lonesome and with lots of supervision though in case it starts to do something inopportune like melt all over everything).
I strongly suspect that I, who finds even the faintest hint of texture underfoot an affront to man, god, and toes (and who does not find knit slippers to be especially slippery), will not want this done to anything I’m ever going to wear. But if you are less sensitive of toe (or more prone to impromptu games of Slip ‘N Slide), it might be the right choice for you. More soon!
*As always, amazon is the devil and I encourage you to get this somewhere else if you can! But if you’re going to get it on amazon anyway, you can use that link & they’ll have to give me a tiny little bit of the money you give them, which I suspect at least some of you would prefer!
