It’s been a long week
This week had some rough bits. Ravelry did something awesome. A whole lot of folks were firmly in support of what ravelry did and made that known. A teeny tiny handful of folks had had some very public temper tantrums. And. while the folks throwing temper tantrums were FAR outnumbered by the awesome folks, it was still distressing to see all that bad behavior. Summer School
Ok, I'm doing something scandalous...scandalous I tell you. I'm going to take part of next month off. This year's book is heading off to the printer next week (translation, one of the year's biggest projects is just about to finish up a hard bit), and I've got some time before it comes back (translation, the next hard bit happens when the book gets back from the printer), so if I'm going to rest a bit, now's the time. Let’s do yarn stuff for a minute
Let's do the yarn thing for just a bit. Isn't this pretty? These go together rather nicely if I do say so myself. I think it's the tiny hits of lavender in the orange yarn...they just zing against the dark purple. Pretty sure you could not ask for a better fit. It's turning into a hat (and probably some mitts), and yarn info is a couple of posts back. Ravelry is Right
Earlier today ravelry made a change to their terms of service. They are banning support of Donald Trump and his administration on ravelry. They say support for this administration is support for white supremacy, and that they will not allow support for white supremacy in their space. They are absolutely right to make this change. The people who run ravelry have always worked tremendously hard to create a space that is safe and inclusive and welcoming.
