So remember how I said there were goodies in the first 500 packages of Silk Road Socks that went out?  Well I think it's time we show off what they were!  But to do that, we need a little backstory. So I know Silk Road Socks has been showing as 'temporarily unavailable' on amazon.  That's because they blew through the first batch they ordered and hadn't gotten the next batch in.  But right this very minute, all of these boxes are winging their way to amazon's warehouse. As soon as they arrive (which should be later this week), amazon will start blasting them out to anyone who has ordered.  What that means for you is that if you were put off by that temporarily unavailable thing (which I totally understand...I feel the same way), now is the time to go [...]

So stockinette is either super slow (because your attention wanders and shiny objects catch your eye every few minutes and so you never actually do the knitting) or super quick (because it's simple enough you can sneak in a row here and there and eventually that means progress). But somehow, it does seem like I've made enough progress that we can officially call this a hat. An unblocked hat mind you, and a bit rumply at that.  But a hat none the less! The yarn is Kunlun by Miss Babs (field mouse and hops), and there will be a pattern [...]

So, here's what the porch looks like as of Monday morning!  I've got a pickup all scheduled with the post office and these should start hitting mailboxes later this week. There's one more batch to go out later this week to catch the orders that have come in over the last few days (that means don't panic if you haven't gotten a shipping notification yet...they'll all be in the mail this week and all within a week of your order date as promised).  We're nearly there! Which makes this a really good time to remind you that the preorder ends [...]

The shipping extravaganza has begun!  This was the porch yesterday morning.  It will keep looking like that for the next few days as I plow through all these books. And yes, there always comes a point in the middle of shipping week where I get a tiny bit tired (adhesive poisoning...so many sticky labels...so many sticky envelope strips), but having lots of books to ship is actually awesome.  The only reason I'm doing this is because you guys like the book enough to buy it, and that's just splendid.  You are awesome, and I'm so flattered that you like it [...]
