If you’ve never been on any of my mailing lists before, you’ll get a confirmation email sent to the address you provide (if you have been on any of my mailing lists before, it sometimes sends you a confirmation email and sometimes doesn’t because computers are weird like that). If you do get a confirmation email, be sure you click the button in that email to confirm your subscription. But don’t worry if you don’t get one, it almost certainly just means you’ve been on the list before!
