It's both surprisingly hard (there are so many choices that the pressure to find the one perfect yarn can be a bit overwhelming), and undeniably awesome (because for days on end, my job is to haunt yarn companies' websites). I must preface this by saying that the vast majority of the knitters I talk to are absolute delights. Our yard got off to a slow start this year. Normally by this point, I'd have giant handfuls of herbs to throw in anything I felt like cooking. This year, we're still a few weeks away from that. So, did you happen to see the new knitty? There might just possibly be a sock in there I recognize! Planorbis corneus Sock, from the new book, is in this season's knitty.
