Here’s your monthly reminder that abortions are good, I am staunchly pro abortion, and if you support me, I will absolutely use some of your money to pay for abortions.

This has been an absolutely shit year for abortion rights in the US. I’m ashamed of my country. I’m furious about what’s happened and scared of what’s to come. And the single best thing I can think to do with that shame and fury and fear is pay for abortions for people who need them and make sure everyone who follows me knows you can order abortion pills online.

I do that by sending a monthly donation to Women on Waves, the organization Aid Access asks folks to donate to to support their work.

They do amazing work, and supporting them makes me feel a tiny bit less hopeless when things are bleak.

I’m able to do that because of my lovely patrons, who are amazingly gracious about this. Because yeah, yeah it is really damn weird to be a knitting designer and be shouting about abortion. In a better world, everyone would have access to all the medical care they need and I could show you pretty yarn instead.

But we don’t live in that world, we live in this one. And in this one, I’ll use whatever tiny voice I have to try and make things better.

P.S. A handful of folks get mad every time I post something like this. That’s a big part of why I do it!
