Yarn Ramen
Published On: January 27, 2026

Yes to snack ramen, no to yarn ramen. If yarn sits in fabric for a while, it will hold the shape of the stitches. Soak it and let it dry to get it back to its original state before you knit with it or else your fabric will be wonky and your gauge will be substantially looser.

If it’s still wonky after the first time, it means you didn’t soak it long enough. Do it again.

These two loops of yarn were wound around the same thing (so they’re the same size). Look how much bigger the relaxed one is…and imagine how much more even the fabric knit with the relaxed one will be. It only takes a minute, and I super duper promise it’s worth it!
