Not the knitting police, but I sure do have opinions. The one I knit with the wonky yarn weighs 5% more than the one I knit with the regular yarn. Yes, some of the unevenness will block out… But if you’re using 5% more yarn for the same number and arrangement of stitches, those two pieces of fabric simply are going to be substantially different even after you block them.

If you don’t wanna straighten your yarn out before you use it again, cool, I can’t make you. But I can strongly recommend that you do.
