But aren’t they slippery?
Published On: April 30, 2026

“But aren’t they slippery?!” is the most common question I get about knitted slippers. And my answer is always some version of “um, they’re about as slippery as regular socks?” Slippers are basically extra thick, extra short socks. So if socks don’t feel slippery, slippers probably won’t. If socks do feel slippery, slippers probably will.

But then there’s this stuff called Sock Stop * which purports to make socks grippy. So I bought some and I’m going to experiment with it. Wanna see how it comes out? You can watch me put it on some little samples over here, and I’ll come back and show it off more over the next few days once it dries and I can tell you more.

(Amazon link, because though amazon is a garbage company with trash ethics, I know it’s also the easiest place to find stuff like this for some people. And it’s an affiliate link, because if you’re going to buy it from the bad guys, might as well make them give me a tiny sliver of their ill-gotten gains. But really, if you can find it at a brick and mortar store near you, do that instead, that’s how you get to keep the brick and mortar stores!)
