Hi there! If you’re new to patreon and want to join us (or you just suddenly need to stitch some paper) you’re in the right place! I’m pretty sure I’ve got everything you could want to know below.

Quick Patreon Overview (because I know it can be daunting!):

• Patreon is a monthly subscription platform that lets you get cool stuff (and support me so I can keep making cool stuff). You can always change or cancel your subscription at any time (anything you get while you were a member always stays yours forever, and you can always put any knitting patterns you get in your ravelry library).
• I have four tiers, one free and three paid. The free tier is sort of like being on my newsletter (or like following a blog if you’re old enough to remember when that’s how the internet worked). The three paid tiers work like this:
  • Utter Nonsense, $5 Pick this if you like what I do and want me to keep doing it (you’re not officially getting any actual stuff, though somehow stuff tends to happen anyways).
  • Rampant Nonsense, $15 Pick this if you want new patterns as they come out, plus all the patterns in the current Rotating Collection (that’s where we play with a bunch of patterns that all explore a theme or technique for a few months).
  • Notable Nonsense, $25 Pick this if you want all the patterns the Rampant Nonsense folks get plus physical stuff in the mail (this is how you make checking the mail more fun).
• If you’ve never signed up at all, you can join us on this page right over here (there are also various buttons all over the place that say stuff like ‘join for free’ or ‘upgrade your membership,’ but the exact details differ depending on your browser and device). If you’re already a member and want to change your tier, there are instructions here (the gist is ‘go to the membership tab, find me, switch to the tier you want,’ but again the exact details depend on your browser and device).
• We’ve got a couple house rules! We are unabashedly lefty, outspokenly political, and we absolutely do not tolerate bigotry. We think everyone deserves bodily autonomy (that’s why I use use the money I make here every month to donate to organizations that provide abortion pills to anyone who needs them and support trans people fleeing dangerous states), we think fascism and genocide are bad (that’s why I’m real damn outspoken about my feelings about the current administration), and we want everyone to thrive (that’s why I talk a lot about being autistic and how I structure my life and my business to work for my brain).

Notable Nonsense details (aka how getting stuff in the mail works):

• Notable Nonsense signups are open for about a week at the beginning of the month (or until all the packages are spoken for, whichever comes first). The rest of the month they’re closed
• Packages go in the mail the second or third week of the month. Shipping is included in the price of the tier, and international folks are welcome unless I specifically say otherwise.
• The only way this works is if we use old fashioned mail, literally an envelope and a stamp, no tracking, and trust the post office to do the amazing job they generally do! If anything goes awry you can always reach out ([email protected]) and I’ll get you sorted out, but so far we’ve had about a 98% success rate (because again, the post office is amazing and we love and support them).
• We ship things most months, but there absolutely will be variations month to month! I am but One Single Human Person trying to do cool things while the world burns, which means sometimes we tweak things. My job is to make sure I’m keeping everyone up to date about the current plans (you can see all the posts we’ve done about this as it evolved over here), your job is to manage your subscription however works best for you (and really, you can always email me and we can sort stuff out).

This Month’s Package (aka I just wanna stitch some paper):

Pretty much every single thing you could possibly want to know about May’s package is spelled out in detail over on this post.

The quick version is if you join the Notable Nonsense tier this month you’ll get both the punched cards (so you can embroider your own) and the printed cards (so you can just sit down and use them right away). If you were here last month too, you’ll get the deluxe version (with double the cards and sticker sheets and a binder ring and a gauge card). And if you’re suddenly sad you weren’t here last month and still want the deluxe version, don’t worry, I’ll have info on how you can make that happen in a day or two.

If you just want the pattern for the paper (not the kit), I’ve got you covered:

Just because I know some of you will want want to make your own paper (without getting stuff in the mail), we can absolutely make that happen.

Anyone with any level of paid membership will get the pattern for the embroidered paper. That will go out next week or early the week after (right around the same time the Notable Nonsense packages go in the mail)! I may put it up for sale as well, or I may just keep this one as a special little treat just for us, we’ll see how I feel about it next week.
