Spicule is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Look, I have this problem. This problem where I get a good idea and then just sort of run with it. And that's how you end up with these absurd patterns with three glorious cabled hats (which would already be a lot to have in one pattern) plus teeny tiny ornament versions of them (because my god can you imagine giving someone a hat as a present with a tiny version of the same hat on top of the package as a bow...that's just lethally [...]

The sun? The sun currently sets at 3:59 pm. It will continue to set at 3:59 pm until December 15, at which point it will set at 4:00 pm. That means if I can make it through seven more ghastly early sunsets, the sunset will start slowly creeping back to a more civilized time. I'll do my best. I hope you will too. Info over here if you wish to join me on my quest to stave off darkness with tidy folds and glowing light.
Countdown 8
Abeyance is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Did I make these just because the idea of a slipper with a loop on the back amused me to no end? Yes. Do I love them? Yes. Am I the tiniest bit sad, every time I see them, that I didn't give in and do the bit at the back in a contrasting yarn? Yes. Does that mean I'll probably have to do another pair also with a loop and with a contrast heel at some point? Oh very much yes. But until then...these [...]

Calceiform is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Sometimes your slippers just want to dress up and look fancy. And as long as I don't have to join them in that dressing up part, I'm cool with that. Really though, this is a perfect example of how just the teeniest tiniest little bit of lacy nonsense can have a heck of an impact. It's a really good return on very little effort (which is pretty much what I'm looking for in any project these days...tell me I'm not alone). What's going on? I’m [...]

Excursion is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Do I have a lot of slippers? Yes. Do I feel bad about that? No. I mean I basically wear them like extra powerful socks. Extra warm, extra thick, extra cozy socks. That means I shove my feet in them and drag them all over the floor. That, in turn, means I was them fairly often (no, we won't be discussing exactly how often, a lady needs her secrets). Often enough that sometimes one pair is drying and I need another pair to wear. Besides, [...]

Burgeoning is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Look, knit slippers are magic. They take so much less time than knit socks (you don't have to do a leg...it's just the foot...and you're using thicker yarn so the foot doesn't even take as long as a proper sock foot does). They're unspeakably cozy (wear them by themselves or over socks...i may occasionally shove my slippered foot in my boots to check the mail in the winter). They're easy to bring along and pop on in a hotel room or in a friend's house [...]

Ensnared is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Ok look, I am a the last person you want setting fashion rules (can we all please just wear cozy pajamas all the time? I think things would be better if we made 'comfy' the most important factor in picking clothes from here on out). But every now and then folks write to me asking which socks to make for the person in their lives who likes very sedate socks. And really? This is a terrible thing to ask me because my initial response is [...]

Look, I like what I like. And what I like is tidy things. Orderly things. Soothingly geometric things. And if you'd like them too, there's a post from last year that will help you get started. You know, in case you share my predilections. Which I suspect a few of you do!
Countdown 3
Sybaritic is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Ok, this is making me miss socks. I don't think I've actually knit a pair of socks since, um, 2017? Now to be fair, I did design a bunch of socks (whole book of them actually) between now and then. But I haven't actually knit any in more than three years (I have lovely sample knitters who help with book socks if you're wondering how that whole design them but don't knit them thing worked out). And mostly I'm fine with that...tiny needles, tight gauge, [...]
