Call for Testers
The newest sock is ready to go to testers. I know some people have been upset to miss testing opportunities in the past, so I thought I'd mention it here too just to give everyone a shot. If you'd like to try for a chance to test these, head over to this Ravelry thread, and volunteer! I'm picking testers tomorrow afternoon, and plan to release these socks at the end of this month. Brrrr
Now that it's officially November, I've succumbed to temptation and turned on the heat. Woolly socks are marvelous things, but they can do only so much once the lows dip into the 30s. However, the cold weather does provide lovely atmospheric backdrops for photos. Or at least that's the excuse reason I'm using for not having raked. Laziness has nothing to do with it. Felled by the Flu
I have been felled by the flu. I have spent the last two days in bed taking strenuous naps and accomplishing precisely nothing useful. Today I felt human enough to stand up but still far from functional. I tried to read (I'm a grad student, reading is my day job) but retained absolutely no information from what I read. I tried to knit but, horror of horrors, knitting was too hard. Criminal Underworld
My newest pattern, and a brief account of my youthful descent into the criminal underworld, will be appearing tomorrow or the next day. Almost Sunny
You'll note I said almost. It's been raining every day, and we still haven't had a day that would qualify as actually sunny. Despite these meteorological impediments, I still managed to get outside, sock and camera in hand, and get a picture of the newest socks. In addition to being cloudy and rainy, it is also perilously close to cold. We haven't turned on the heat yet, and it was 48 degrees in the house this morning. Yarn Part the Second
As I mentioned earlier, when I was at Sock Summit, I had the marvelous experience of picking out yarn from several dyers who had asked me to design socks for them. I know I promised information about a new sock pattern in this post. Not only have I kept you waiting a shamefully long time, but it turns out I was full of lies about that new pattern bit.
