So I've talked before about how I really do think you should be blocking your hats. And I definitely practice what I preach. You've never seen a hat in a pattern photo that wasn't blocked (and blocked firmly at that). But something we haven't talked much about is brims. I like folded up brims, and I often like fairly deep ones (this one is approaching the upper limit of brim depth acceptability, but I like it, so I'm going with it). Proof
There. I can now say, with certainty, that I am perfectly able to knit a hat on circular needles. Turns out I can also say, with equal certainty, that it is not my preferred method of knitting a hat. I figured out that I just really really REALLY dislike sliding the stitches off of the cable and back onto the needle. The physical sensation of it is just unpleasant. Lest you worry…
So I know it's been all hearts all the time. That's because they are clearly a force for evil and have some sort of nefarious plan to take over the world by co-opting all our needles at once. They may even succeed. But just in case you were getting worried, there has been progress on the hat since last you saw it. Ok so I’m not the only one…
It seems I'm not alone in my fondness for the little hearts! Enough of you have told me about your plans to make them that I feel like we ought to do a little KAL. So, all the details should be over on the rav thread, but the general idea is to talk about your hearts (I especially love to hear all the things you're planning to do with them). Palpitation
Rumor has it that I'm technically a grownup. The sort of person allowed to have a mortgage and drive a car and care for pets without any sort of outside supervision. Yet somehow, I find myself hopelessly distracted by tiny, fluffy hearts. Multiplying
Hmmm, it seems I have suffered a lack of restraint. That or they're multiplying on their own. I mean really, I wouldn't put it past them...anything this cute could well have ulterior motives. We're all set for a pattern release tomorrow (barring any sort of catastrophe like breaking something else in the next 24 hours...). And that should leave you plenty of time to make a whole heap of these before Valentines Day if you find yourself so inclined!
