That's it. I'm just accepting that gray hats are my thing, I love them, I knit a lot of them, I'm not sorry, and I'm not going to change. Mitts really are quick. Quick and more fun than they should be. Which is good, because I have a whole lot of them...though somehow that never stops me from wanting more. Oh and don't worry...it does this on the needles, but it behaves perfectly when it's blocked and on your hands! But that just looked too cool to not show you. Outsides
Fetching though the insides are, I will admit to loving the outside more than I should. The stripe is just perfect (and yes, yes it does go rather nicely with last week's hat, this is not an accident). And the thumb increases are deeply, deeply satisfying. It's probably indecorous to love them as much as I do, but I'm not going to pretend I don't love them. Now...let's get started on mitt two! Insides
Remember how I was smitten with the outside of the cuff increases? Well the inside is also oddly charming. Same with the inside of the stripe. Now, I don't think it's necessarily practical to actually think of these as reversible (I can't think of a suitably hidden way to weave in the contrast color ends to pull that off... Detachable Pompoms

So it seems I'm not alone in either my love for this stripe, or for the ridiculously adorable pompom. Which is reassuring if I'm being honest! Short attention span
So I'm knitting swatches. A whole pile of swatches. And they're not even going to get turned into things (or rather, the swatch is the the thing for this one), and it's a very very very odd experience. But it is awfully close to instant gratification!
Tidy
You know me. You know I love a tidy thumb gusset. And this? This is astonishingly tidy. I mean it's not hard. It's not even fiddly. It's just...it's just splendid. I'm actually sort of in love with my whole thumb plan for these. And honestly, it looks just as good on the inside. So. That was fun! I mean really rather more fun than someone who is ostensibly and adult should be having with a pompom. I probably shouldn't be this tickled but I absolutely am.
