Collate
This is the view from my office door today. I'm pulling together all the various corrections from all the various editors and putting them into one master document that gets sent off to Zoe, the book designer (translation, it's really really really close to done, but it's still going to be a while before you guys get to see it). On the desk, from right to left we've got: KCC1 (to make sure any conventions established there are carried on here), Heather's notes, The Boy's notes, the notepad with a list of files to update, the coolest keyboard in the [...]
Uninspiring
Sorry folks, I'm being shamefully uninspiring at the moment. You see, the first laid out draft of the book is here. That means I'm up to my neck in editing...the sort where you match your pens to your highlighters and your postit notes and call upon all the focusing capabilities of a cup of your strongest tea and just power through. It makes for a shamefully boring blog really. I will do my very best to actually put some yarn on some sticks and do something clever with it as soon as possible. But for now, could someone please hand [...]
Book Yarn, Part IX
And finally, Vice. I got to know Lizzy, the brain behind Vice, on Ravelry. She's been helping me test my patterns for approximately forever. She even knit both of the sample shawls for the first volume of Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet (which is a lot of knitting). When I heard she had started her own yarn line (and isn't that every knitter's dream), I was thrilled. Book Yarn, Part VIII
Next up, Barking Dog Yarns. I've been using Barking Dog Yarns for just about forever. I think my first pattern with them was Peregrinate, and of course we mustn't forget Inlay or the Loasa lateritia projects from the first volume of Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet. I've loved everything I've made with these yarns and am consistently impressed with the beautiful colors. They were a natural choice when I was hunting yarns for the next book.
