There I sat, admiring my swatch. Loving it really. The drape, the gauge, the yarn, the color, all was well. Look at that red thing (details of said swatch intentionally and shamelessly obscured in the interest of secrecy preservation). In The Grip
I got the nicest note from someone the other day saying they were sorry I wasn't knitting much these days. I had to do a bit of a double take. I sort of feel like I've been knitting like a mad woman. That cramp in my neck and the twinge just above my right elbow also seem to indicate that I've been knitting rather a lot. What I've not been doing is showing you my knitting. These Things Keep Happening
Somehow, despite all my firm intentions to work on only one (or, you know, two) big projects at a time, something snuck up on me the other day. I really couldn't help it. It started as a swatch. The plan went something like this. Dash off to Chicago after work on Friday, hang out during the day on Saturday, see a concert that night, zip back home Sunday in time for a nice leisurely evening. This is a perfectly viable plan in the town you're going to and the town you're coming from are close to each other. Cleveland and Chicago...aren't. I just went to package up this morning's out going books, and realized I'm down to only a tiny handful of copies of Rabble Rousers. Tiny like a dozen. I'm sure that all of you have perfectly organized, tidy, ordered lives. The sort where you have time to undertake intricate craft projects. As some of you may recall, earlier this year The Boy and I headed out to our local picturesque abandoned greenhouse (every well equipped town has one).
