Permissive
I may have made a grave error in judgement. I may have obtained some hair clips to which one of these could, were one so inclined, be affixed. And, while this will not render them suitable for kitten use, it may possibly render them suitable for adorning humans. Depending on your definition of suitable. But we all know my definition of suitable is...rather permissive. Updates as events warrant. The pattern is Ensorcellment, should your definition of suitable be similarly expansive.
Gleam
Ahem...I told you the next step was to embroider on it. Does the silk embroidery floss absolutely gleam? Yes. Does this make me happy on a drizzly, chilly, gray morning? Also yes. Am I having more fun than anyone should? Very much also yes.
When you just can’t wait
Ahem, you know how I'm always recommending you block? Yeah, sometimes you don't even have to wait until you're done knitting to block. If you want to see how something is coming together (or double check your gauge, or see how the fabric feels or drapes after it blocks, or just get a little reassurance that your project is on track), you can totally block things while you're still working on them. If you're using needles you're ok with getting wet (most metal or plastic needles, especially dpns and straights), you can absolutely throw stuff in water while it's on [...]
Restraint
As is so often the case...the tiny things are more fun when you make, um, several. Now I will, as always, do my best to restrain myself. You have to keep your more excessive impulses in check or there's no telling what will happen. But we are going to need at least a few. I'm sure you understand...
Leaf babies or mushroom friends?
So voting last time was actually weirdly fun (or, possibly, I'm just really liking the idea of a super low stakes vote where no one's safety or bodily autonomy or civil liberties are on the line?), so let's do it again! Last time we voted on whether the pointy hat or the potion bottles should come back (pointy hat won & came out Tuesday, patrons who get patterns can download it here, everyone else can find it here). Those two had something of a seasonal deadline, so they came first, but I've got two other patterns with a strong fall [...]
Peculiar
Yup. Yup I know. It looks, um, a bit peculiar at this stage. I fully admit it. But it will undergo a significant increase in cuteness before we're done. And I won't ask you to take it entirely on faith, Little Skein Anne has seen where this is going (that's her gorgeous yarn) and will probably vouch for me and reassure everyone that I have not lost all sense. But before it can get all officially cute, I have to knit, um, a couple more. Just a few. Because tiny things are so often better in sets. And I am [...]
Mysterious
Local knitwear designer found mysteriously mauled. Authorities say she appears to have been attacked by rabid weasels. Friends and family express shock and can't think of any motive for the vicious attack. Some have called for an investigation into the victim's kitten, who was found at the scene of the crime, fastidiously cleaning off her claws, with what one witness described as "a vengeful gleam in her eye." But the kitten, speaking through her legal representative, maintains her absolute innocence and claims to have been napping in a sunbeam when the events in question occurred. Further updates to come [...]
Ensorcellment
Ensorcellment is back! Though I regret to inform you that there have been several credible reports of ghostly apparitions in recent days... If you're feeling brave enough to risk it, the pattern is up on both ravelry and payhip. The code "BOO" will take 10% off for the next day or two. Patreon folks at the appropriate tiers should sense a spectral presence emanating from their inboxes (as should anyone who bought it before the patterns came down this summer). And should any of you come to feel a cold chill in the air or notice a shadowy movement out [...]
How shall we begin?
Every year, when the days start to get shorter, I find myself dealing with an urge to do something fairly absurd... I have to make these. Lots and lots and lots of these. No really, quite a lot of these. And every year, people ask me how to make them. And every year, I say 'I don't want to get work vibes all over my playtime.' And that's true! But here's the thing... The whole point of patreon is to let me do more of the things that feel like play, and then share them with patrons. And wow oh [...]
