Peregrinate (plus giveaway)
You know when your knitting hits that perfect, meditative place? The spot where your fingers know just what to do and your stitches flow perfectly and all you have to do is sit back and admire your work? The Opposite of Fiddly
The last two knitting projects required a fair amount of planning and fiddling and counting and perhaps even some scheming. Which is fine. I'm good at those things and I enjoy them. But I might just be about ready for a knitting project that doesn't require much of that at all. And I think I have just the yarn. That's totally one where you want to just sit back quietly and let the yarn do all the work for you. Which sounds like a lovely little break if you ask me.
This has been a test of the Emergency Kitten Nap System
Had this been an actual emergency kitten nap, pretty much the exact same thing would have happened.
And now we block
So, progress on several fronts. Slippers are done. Cuffs are done. I have a small pile of ends to weave in and then everything needs to be blocked (because wow is there a difference between blocked and unblocked folks, block your knitting), but this is nifty.
Yup

Phaeodaria (plus giveaway)
You know how sometimes I come along and say 'so I know this looks tricky, but you'll have it down in no time?' Well that's not these socks. Phaeodaria actually are just a tiny bit tricky, but wow are they worth it! The leg? It's one big chart with a lovely, intricate, twirly, swirly extravaganza of tiny twisted cables. Any Second Now
I probably can't, in good conscience, continue to pepper you with pictures of these and their incremental growth for too much longer. So it's a good thing they're almost done. The finished mitt has seven zigs, and the almost finished one is just at the end of zig six, so it really shouldn't be much longer at all. And of course it's grown a thumb (which will, I promise, be much more tidy after I block it). So the next time I sit down and knit for an hour or two, they should be done! Continue to zig and zag
Nearly done. The sort of nearly done where could almost talk yourself into just going ahead and banging it out, but your elbow really sort of hurts, and you know if you do keep going you'll totally pay for it the next day. So it's waiting (because much as I love you all, I want to still be able to knit in five years, so I'm not going to knit when it hurts me). But it shouldn't have to wait much longer!
Nope Nope Nope
