Ran Away
Friday afternoon we set kittens up to be self sufficient for a day or two, tossed a change of clothes in a bag, flung some things in the car, and ran away. One of the folks I had the pleasure of meeting at TNNA this June was Alisha of Alisha Goes Around. I'd first heard about Alisha after 2011's TNNA (and all the things I heard were ever so nice). So There’s This Thing I Wanna Try…
You know what happens when you (sort of accidentally) start a business and then run it by yourself? You find yourself running a business by yourself. That can be just the tiniest bit overwhelming. I think the phase has passed. I've got three hats. The family in question has three sprockets. I think the numbers line up pretty well. Experiments (and a Giveaway)
I spend a lot of time reading and thinking and talking about books and how books get made and how books get to readers. It's easy to see that the publishing industry is changing dramatically. It's harder to figure out how to navigate the new landscape in a way that is fair and practical and interesting and still pays the bills. Wee Hat the Second
Again, not actually all that wee. Same idea as before, glorified stripes, never more than one color on a row (because I'm lazy and not a very good knitter, that's why). This one was super speedy. Cast on when I finished the first one, cast of yesterday. Still smitten. One more to go at least. Once again, the texture is best seen by swinging around to the side a bit. The little nubbly poofs amuse me to no end. They also tempt Barry into unspeakable misbehavior, so these have to go on a nice high shelf.
