Which one?
Ok important questions here folks…single color or contrast color, which one is your favorite? I mean yes, picking a favorite feels like a crime, so perhaps it’s better to say which one do you want to make first. Because really, doing just one may prove surprisingly difficult! Constellate
Constellate is out on both ravelry and payhip! But it really shouldn't be this pretty. It just shouldn't. Nothing this easy should look so impressive. Yet somehow, it does, and I find myself completely unwilling to argue with anything so delightful. Instead, I find myself inclined to play with it. So far that's meant experimenting with a two color version (which I love even more than the single color version, a feat I didn't think possible). Oh and being hopelessly entranced by the wrong side of the fabric (the wrong side on the two color version still leaves me wondering [...]
It has pockets!
So, the thing everyone wanted from the little needlebook pattern was a way to keep stitch markers. I confess my first inclination was 'punch a couple holes somewhere, thread a safety pin through, put them on that. But you can also totally add an actual pocket!
Better in sets
Better in sets better in sets better in sets. I'm just always going to believe that knitted accessories are better in sets. Now, do I actually manage to wear all the pieces of a set at the same time? Um...sometimes? Occasionally? Ideally? But look, just knowing I have the option makes me happy. I do usually spend the winter with a hat jammed in one pocket of my coat and some mitts jammed in the other pocket, does that count? Another very spiffy swatch
Make that Two Very Spiffy Swatches. Because really, there's no reason you have to keep those fancy stitches marching along in lock step, neatly regulated by ribbing. You absolutely can work them on stockinette and offset them instead. And nothing bad happens. You might, in face, find that something awfully nifty happens.
Spooky Knits Season
Miss Fizzy would like me to remind you we are now firmly in spooky knits season, and that she has you covered, should you have a black cat you'd like to irritate by attempting to make them wear a hat. Bonus shot of her two years when she was just a few months old and freshly introduced to the indignity of being a cat in a knitter's household, just in case you needed an aching reminder of the inexorable march of time. The hat is called Ensorcellment, though I can't in good conscience recommend inflicting it on unsuspecting critters.
The indecisive
See, the problem is that brioche just always looks spiffy on both sides. It makes things hard for the indecisive among us (me, I am the indecisive among us and am completely unable to pick a favorite side). There's also that thing where you can make tiny changes and it'll look wildly different, and that other thing where brioche feels super fast when it's on the needles, and that other other thing where these are tiny. Remember how I told you the wee tiny needlebook needed an option to have pages in it? Yeeeeeeeah. So that's totally going to be a thing now. I shouldn't be, but I remain unspeakably amused.
